[1]- Continuous stay during each visit shall not exceed 90 days for countries except USA, UK, Canada and Japan.
For USA, UK, Canada and Japan continuous stay during each visit shall not exceed 180 days
[2]- If you have the intention of remaining more than 180 days, you must register with FRRO/FRO concerned within two weeks after the expiry of 180 days.
What is the general information for India e-visa (ETA)?
• The applicant's passport should have a minimum of six months validity at the time of creating the application of e-Visa.
• An international airline return ticket is a must.
• Sufficient funds to spend to cover the applicant’s stay.
• E-visa is not applicable for Diplomatic or Official Passport Holders.
• International Travel Documents Holders cannot apply for e-visa.
Nationals of Yellow Fever affected countries or travellers arriving from these countries must carry a YELLOW FEVER VACCINATION CARD at the time of arrival in India, otherwise they will be quarantined for six days upon arrival in India.
I applied for an e-visa with my old passport, am I able to travel using my new passport?
You must travel with the passport with which you applied for e-Visa.
Entry is going to be allowed into India on the new passport although ETA has been issued on the old passport, but the traveller must be in possession of the old passport too.
What are the required documents for Indian e-visa?
1. Scanned passport copy, passport should have a minimum of six months validity at the time of applying for e-Visa.
2. Digital photograph with light background.
3. Arrival port/ airport.
4. Home address, work address, telephone number and email.
5. Date of travel
6. Name, nationality and place of birth of father, mother and spouse if applicant is married.
7. Copy of the previous India’s visa.
8. Copy of Letter from the Hospital concerned in India on its letterhead which includes the date / tentative date of admission (for medical e-Visa).
9. Any letter of invitation if applicable from Indian parties with whom you conduct the business (for business e-Visa) (optional).
When will my e-Visa be issued and how will I be informed about it?
E-Visa application may take up to 72 hours for processing.
You will be informed via email.
Can I change the port of arrival/departure?
E-visa holders can arrive at 28 Airports and 5 seaports as below:

Airports: Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Bagdogra, Bengaluru, Bhubaneshwar, Calicut, Chennai, Chandigarh, Cochin, Coimbatore, Delhi, Gaya, Goa, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Madurai, Mangalore, Mumbai, Nagpur, Port Blair, Pune, Tiruchirapalli, Trivandrum, Varanasi & Visakhapatnam.

Seaports: Cochin, Goa, Mangalore, Chennai and Mumbai seaports.

However, any port or airport can be used to exit the country.
When am I able to apply for my e-visa?
You need to apply 4 days before the date of arrival in India with a window of 120 days.
Can my e-visa to India be extended?
No. E-Visas are non-extendable, non-convertible.
